amplus AG from Teisnach in Bavaria is finally bringing clarity to the confusing world of DSL and VDSL tariffs. Unlike other DSL and VDSL providers, amplus will no longer differentiate between different speed tiers. Customers always receive the maximum download and upload speeds available at their connection. The concept is intended to make broadband tariffs simpler and more transparent.
Just as Facebook helped spark a revolution in North Africa, Bavarian company amplus AG is now revolutionising Germany’s DSL and VDSL market. The basis of its new and so far unique tariff concept is one price for DSL and one price for VDSL. amplus AG calls the model “maximum line – minimum price”. New customers always receive the maximum bandwidth technically possible at their location.
Anyone ordering an amplus VDSL connection and living no more than around 1,000 metres from the main distribution point can receive download speeds of up to 100,000 kbit/s and uploads of up to 20,000 kbit/s. Anyone who does not need that much speed can choose the amplus DSL service instead.
The introduction of this new and revolutionary tariff concept is accompanied by a special introductory price. New customers signing a contract in May 2011 receive amplusDSL with up to 20,000 kbit/s download and up to 1,000 kbit/s upload for €24.95 per month. amplusVDSL with download speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s costs €39.95 per month.
