The aim appears to be for all RAN suppliers, including Nokia and Ericsson, to open the relevant interfaces. If this is decided, the alleged Huawei ban in the RAN would in reality amount to an industry-wide conversion.
But if the agreement to exclude vendors from the core network merely formalises what has already been the planning position for four years, and the RAN agreement amounts to a conversion affecting all equipment suppliers, then little remains of the supposed Huawei ban.
