How much do Google, Facebook & Co. earn per user – in other words, from me, you and everyone else? A Spiegel Online article investigates this interesting question. The figures do not all come from completely authoritative sources, as the author himself notes, but they nevertheless illustrate the relative scale of the online business quite well.
An interactive graphic visualises the data very clearly. From user numbers and annual revenue per user to annual profits and losses and company valuations, the Flash graphic shows who is still clearly ahead: Google.
The comparison also includes Facebook, Zynga, New York Times Digital, AOL, Huffington Post, Twitter and Xing.
