The mass market will get it only in stadiums and at major events.<\/p>\n<cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.golem.de\/news\/connectec-telefonica-sieht-5g-erst-einmal-nicht-fuer-die-massen-1905-140998.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.golem.de\/news\/connectec-telefonica-sieht-5g-erst-einmal-nicht-fuer-die-massen-1905-140998.html<\/a><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my view, Telef\u00f3nica\/o2 is doing itself no favours with this assessment. According to rumours, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heise.de\/mac-and-i\/meldung\/Experte-iPhone-mit-5G-ab-2020-2019er-Modell-macht-Selfies-mit-12-Megapixel-4404359.html\">iPhone is expected to support 5G from 2020<\/a>. And customers who then spend a lot of money on a new iPhone will want to see it using the latest mobile standard as well.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, Telef\u00f3nica should carry the momentum it is currently building in the expansion of its LTE network over into the 5G rollout \u2013 and communicate that clearly.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Golem has published several other interesting articles about 5G from the ConnectEC telecommunications trade fair:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among other things, you can read <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golem.de\/news\/connectec-suedkorea-ist-bisher-fuehrend-beim-5g-ausbau-1905-141002.html\">how far South Korea has already progressed with 5G.<\/a> Or that a former Vodafone manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golem.de\/news\/connectec-was-bei-5g-anders-laufen-sollte-1905-141017.html\">is advocating a rapid 5G rollout.<\/a><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is also an article on why <a href=\"https:\/\/www.golem.de\/news\/connectec-deutsche-bahn-braucht-bald-den-gigabit-zug-1905-141016.html\">Deutsche Bahn urgently needs 5G for its customers<\/a> and how a rapid 5G rollout could work using existin<a href=\"https:\/\/www.golem.de\/news\/connectec-dresden-soll-mit-small-cells-fuehrend-bei-5g-werden-1905-141010.html\">g mobile network sites.<\/a><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let\u2019s hope Telef\u00f3nica did not just give the presentation mentioned at the beginning about 5G becoming suitable for the mass market in the near future, but also listened carefully to the other presentations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to Telef\u00f3nica Germany, 5G is initially important only for industry.
